SPAARKD
A mobile commerce platform for ordering and selling products, with a built-in design studio for creating them and an integrated blog. I joined in the discovery phase to evaluate the project, and went on to lead one of its two delivery streams.

Responsibilities
- Came in during discovery to assess the project's code and performance and shape the plan — refactoring, redesign, and new features. The client proceeded with the engagement on the strength of that work, with me as lead of one of two streams.
- Led a stream of six engineers and acted as the client's primary contact — the person they reached when something went wrong, diagnosing the issue and then planning and managing the fix across myself and the team.
- Grew the team deliberately, taking junior and mid engineers toward senior through scoped, teaching-oriented tasks rather than plain delegation.
- Built proofs of concept for each new feature, then broke the work down and delegated it across the stream, coordinating the big picture with the second stream's lead.
- Worked with the design team through discovery — reining in animation and UI ideas when they outran what mobile could render performantly.
- Contributed across the stack, including the NodeJS backend, to deliver features end to end.
- Investigated the legacy codebase into architectural diagrams and documentation the team relied on, audited third-party libraries (replacing several with open-source equivalents), and drove Android build optimisation — alongside running onboarding, code review, and technical interviewing.
